Stats from 3 Months of Daily Startup Posts
As a New Year’s resolution, I started posting daily about startups. I was inspired by David Cumming’s daily posts which I have been reading for several years.
There are many specific reasons that motivated me to start the daily posts. Each of those has turned out to be more true than I anticipated, and I’ve also discovered other benefits from maintaining the blog. I’ll reserve my thoughts on benefits of blogging for another day. Today I share some stats from 3 months of daily startup posts.
- Unique Visitors – 1,314
- Visits – 2,160
- Pageviews – 3,929
- Two major visitor geographies – Atlanta and San Francisco/Bay Area
- Best single day – Feb 15th with 228 visits (Hacker News caught a little bite on Egg Drop Soup in a Can)
I publicize my posts by automatic WordPress extensions that send links to Twitter, LinkedIn, and manually to Google Plus.
I’m pleased with the results, even though I’m not doing the posts to hit some statistical milestone. I’m especially happy for the handful of consistent readers (many of whom are excellent startup bloggers) and for the opportunity to share and vet ideas with them.
What are your blogging stats? What are your reasons for maintaining or not maintaining a blog?
