Peer Review for Bootstrapped Startups
Bootstrapped startups often do not have an outside board, since there are no investors in the business. It’s a great position for founders to be in if they can make it there.
However, the lack of oversight can mean that founders need to be extra diligent to get the positive benefits of oversight in other ways. At AccelerEyes, we’re actively looking for ways to substitute peer review for our lack of a controlling board.
Currently, I am personally achieving peer review in two ways: 1) through my brand new EO forum, and 2) through this blog and the vetting of my ideas that occurs by making my thoughts public. Both are quickly becoming very valuable to me.
What else? How do you achieve peer review in your startup? How do you maintain oversight on your actions?
