Entrepreneur Personality Types

Today I continue the discussion about personality types. If you are thinking of starting a business, you might start with a little introspection to discover your own personality type. Take a Myers-Briggs test.

Here are the possible outcome types. I’m an ENTJ – Extravert, Intuitive, Thinker, Judger. I first took Myers-Briggs as part of a TI:GER entrepreneurship course. Most of the classroom fell into the types clustered in the upper-left quadrant of that output type page.

That’s definitely not to say that lower-right quadrant people are unsuccessful as entrepreneurs. To the contrary, those lower-right quadrant people that figure out how to break out of their natural state and start something are often much more successful than the run-of-the-mill upper-left types.

Whatever the case, it is good to know where you stand in the sea of personality types.

What personality type are you?

I’m an ISTJ. The metaphor I use for the people with the S-J letter combination is “Logistical.” You have the NT combination, which I call “Strategist.” You are great at coming up with ways to meet a goal, which is what strategy is all about.

You’re right that the MBTI is important. I found that using it, you have a perfect window to what is going on in the mind of other people. You can know their “values.” Once you know that, you can guide them quickly and easily through the sales process. Come to my web site at customersecrets.com, if you want to know the how-to and step-by-step sequence (that is the logistical part of me talking).
