Opportunity in Uncommon Expertise Combinations
Some of the best startup opportunities arise from uncommon expertise combinations, which open the way for great products. Today’s TAG Business Launch winner, Techturized, is a great example. Techturized combines a software recommendation engine technology and sleek website with the black hair care market. The founders have expertise in both.
While the other two finalists (Rigor and Sideqik) also have great companies and teams at the helm, Techturized’s unique ability to apply software in a whole new domain is undeniable interesting and convincing. It didn’t hurt them much either to have aced their presentation today with super polished slides and delivery, confidence without overbearance, and tactful handling of the judges’ questions.
Last year’s winner, Collector Dash, also applied software in the interesting collectibles market. That unique combo was also compelling for the judges.
It was great to join Acculynk and Collector Dash on a panel of previous winners moderated by David Cummings. I’ll always be proud of that moment when AccelerEyes walked away with the 2009 win. Congrats to Techturized for the win today!
