Simplification of Design
Simplification of design has been on my mind. I’ve written about how we are working to simplify our brand. We are also redesigning a simpler website.
Simplification of design is also a tech industry theme right now. Apple’s iOS 7 is a design simplification with flat icons and clean interfaces. Google and Yahoo have both developed new flat logos for themselves too.
Today, I ran across an awesome slidedeck that shows how to simplify charts. See the before and after below. Go here to see the steps of that simplification in the post, “Data Looks Better Naked.”
I’m looking for recommendations on good books or information about design, especially those with a bent towards “less is more”. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Where do you find design inspiration?
