Cognition-as-a-Service
With the success of the SaaS business model, other “as-a-service” options are appearing. One of these is cognition-as-a-service.
In the past few years, artificial intelligence enabled products have begun to emerge. Examples of AI-enabled products include:
- Siri from iOS
- Wolfram Alpha
- IBM’s Watson
Key advancements in natural language processing have made these developments possible. The next step is for these types of technologies to filter down into everyday use. This will happen as AI-enabling meets the internet of things.
Those that control the cognition services will be able to charge as-a-service type fees to companies desiring to add smarts to their products.
What are your thoughts on cognition-as-a-service? Would your startup’s products benefit from cognition-as-a-service features?
