Stats from 6 Months of Daily Startup Posts
I began this blog as a New Year’s resolution and have posted every day for the last six months. Like any new web endeavor, it’s interesting to track the stats. Here are the stats from the first six months:

The readership roughly doubled from Q1 to Q2. It’s always interesting to see how things trickle outward on the internet.
Blogging has been personally enriching. When I started, I worried that it would be really time-consuming and that I would run out of ideas after two weeks. Those worries quickly vanished. The act of posting daily fixes both of those concerns: you get good at whipping up a new post quickly and you get good at generating on average more than one idea per day. At any given time, I have a list of 20-30 potential posts from which to pull.
It is surprising to me how many different ways this blog has been beneficial both to me and to AccelerEyes. It keeps me thinking. It provides me with a great way to vet some of the things we’re doing at AccelerEyes and to solicit feedback from you. It is a way for me to communicate to our current and prospective team members about important issues we face. There are many other ways blogging is beneficial too, and I’ll reserve a discussion on those for a later date.
Thank you for reading. I’m hungry to learn from you about the topics I discuss and am hoping to improve the way we do things at AccelerEyes by learning from your comments. Some of you have provided great comments (or Twitter conversations) that teach me. My goal for Q3 is to encourage more participation in the comments of the posts, so that we can continue to learn from each other.

Great idea… I put a little about the name in the “About” tab at the top. But I could do a post about that.
