The Commitment Pattern
The most successful leaders are very persuasive and by definition are good at committing others to action. They recognize the various stages of commitment and how to move prospects/employees/partners/etc through each stage. I was trained to recognize a commitment pattern that follows the steps below, which have been altered to be startup-appropriate:
- Prepare
- Invite
- Follow-up
- Resolve concerns
These steps of commitment are useful in sales, in management, and in any persuasive role. Over the course of the next several days, I’ll discuss these steps of commitment.
What steps do you use to persuade and motivate others?
