Finding Talent as a Small Employer

I recently ran across this Business Insider article on how a small employer can find great talent. Small employers can offer better opportunities for many job seekers than BigCos. We have spent considerable time recruiting this year and continue to do so. I’ve written about that extensively on this blog.

The article makes two interesting points that resonate with some of the things we do at AccelerEyes:

  • Small companies can offer great training opportunities for younger employees (or transitioning seasoned employees)
    • We hold regular opportunities for employees to become excellent in their skills through intense internal training
  • Small companies can offer great breadth of experiential opportunities
    • Every developer in AccelerEyes gets the opportunity to participate in all aspects of software development and business function

The founder in the article is just 22-years-old. I imagine it’s tougher for someone so young to recruit. I’m grateful for some of the more seasoned hires that joined AccelerEyes in our early days despite the fact that they were older than me.

What other ways do you attract employees into your small business?
