Not Only Luck.

The GDP and You

The US GDP is over $15 trillion. That much money is exchanging hands each year, just in the US. All you have to do is insert yourself in the middle. Go out and get you some of that!

I like that quote. It is simple and inspirational. I heard it in a startup speech 10 years ago or so. I can’t remember who said it.

As soon as you begin a startup, the process of queuing up potential customers begins. Initially, all you can do is share your ideas with potential buyers. Collect their information. Keep them up to date through blogs and newsletters. Get them excited to be the first to try.

Once you have a minimally viable product, get people to use it. And sell it. Make money.

But improve your product because it stinks. You have to build it better.

And keep selling it. Sell, sell, sell. Relentlessly sell without apology for your deficient product. Don’t complain about the product. Just sell it.

But keep improving it. Work quickly and efficiently. Engineer the things people want. Support your initial customers and they’ll love you.

It’s not so hard. It’s really just about getting out there fearlessly.

What are your thoughts on how to best “get you some of that”?
