Not Only Luck.

Making Stuff Happen

I believe one of the best attributes to have is that of making stuff happen. To act rather than be acted upon.

Entrepreneurship is one embodiment of that attribute. It provides you with a do-or-die opportunity to force yourself into that attribute.

Some of the most valuable members of any organization are those that excel at this attribute. For instance, we work with some awesome government officials who have term-limits and are making wonderful stuff happen within their time in office.

It is interesting to watch our BigCo partners and how they operate. Some celebrate the movers and shakers. Others celebrate toeing the line and running everything by legal first.

I’ve noticed increasing startup buzz lately around the concept of acting first and asking for forgiveness later. That’s an overly strong way to describe the principle. But the gist of knocking down walls of resistance to enable a better way is awesome.

What are your thoughts on making stuff happen?
