I recently ran across this article that says the worst hiring mistake you can make is not following up nicely with the people you reject.
I’m curious how you reject candidates in your company? Here is what we’ve been sending recently:
Hi <name>,
Unfortunately, we will not be offering you a job on our team at this time. Keep working on your skills and feel free to apply again down the road.In the meantime, use ArrayFire in your CUDA or OpenCL projects and you’ll get to know us much more that way!Cheers,<sender>
If the candidate asks for feedback, I am not hesitant in sending the raw feedback from our vetting process. I figure it helps more than hurts. But I don’t send that feedback unless the candidate wants it.
How do you close the loop with people in your hiring funnel?
