This year I am serving as the Forum chair for the EO chapter in Atlanta. This means that I help chapter members find the right forum to join to best serve their needs. There are 150 members in the chapter and forums have 7-9 people in them.
After doing this for a few months now, it is clear that entrepreneurs really have two modes: lifestyle or growth mode.
Lifestyle mode are entrepreneurs that have built something successful and are now focused more on leisure and pursuing a lifestyle than they are on working all the time. They spend a lot of time thinking about things to purchase, where to vacation, and how to extend their wealth through investments in other things besides their own businesses.
Growth individuals spend most of their time and resources on their own business trying to make them bigger. While they still take time out to play hard, they are not really focused on that aspect of their lives.
It has been interesting to me to see
these two modes define the EO forums of our chapter.
What are your thoughts on lifestyle versus growth modes for entrepreneurs?
