A deal fell apart today and the other side asked what’s my plan, I answered, “do what entrepreneurs do : make it rain without clouds”.

Johnson Cook put up a terrific post today on problems that can arise from building a sales machine. Go read it!
At ArrayFire, we have also poured a lot of thought into building a rigorous sales machine. We do a pretty good job. I have noticed too that some of the magic can be lost in the building of the processes. Some of the hunger gets quenched in the comfort of systematic numbers, and it is a bad thing to lose hunger.
Yet, a sales machine is vital. Haphazard approaches to contacting and dripping messages out to customers are not effective. They are not measurable. You can’t learn from it, predict it, or improve it.
Stay hungry. But be a machine about it!
What are your thoughts on Johnson’s post?
