John Melonakos [melon-ah’-kōs] is a Principal Software Engineer at Intel. He is also the CEO & Co-founder of ArrayFire in Atlanta. That’s me.

I am a purpose-driven entrepreneur working on software tools for technical computing. I spend my time thinking about the decentralization of the internet and the role technology can play in promoting healthy communities. In this blog, I discuss business, life, and the increasingly important interplay of those. My purpose is to think critically about entrepreneurial ideas for making an uplifting impact in the world.

At Intel, we make an open framework for technical computing called oneAPI. It offers a collaborative approach to building the AI future on open standards and software.

At ArrayFire, we make AI and GPU software to help scientists, engineers, and financial analysts build faster and smarter code. The ArrayFire library is an open-source and productive way to improve computing applications with data-parallel processors. ArrayFire now runs with oneAPI.

I studied electrical engineering at Brigham Young University and Georgia Tech, finishing with a PhD in electrical and computer engineering, focusing on medical image processing and computer vision.

My CV is here.

When not working, I spend time with my six children and enjoy peaceful Sundays with my church family.
